Academic Excellence Ceremony 2023

Fifty students earned National Merit and College Board recognition in fall 2023. The group was honored at our Academic Excellence Ceremony.

National Merit Commended Students
Approximately 1.3 million students annually enter the National Merit Scholarship Program competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), as well as meeting published program entry and participation requirements. Commended students represent the top 3 percent of scores.

National Merit Semifinalists
Approximately 1.3 million students annually enter the National Merit Scholarship Program competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), as well as meeting published program entry and participation requirements. Semifinalists represent the top 1 percent of the test’s high scorers.

National African American Recognition Award Recipients
Students earned qualifying scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, PSAT 10 or eligible Advanced Placement exams. This College Board academic honor can be included in college and scholarship applications.

National Hispanic Recognition Award Recipients
Students earned qualifying scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, PSAT 10 or eligible Advanced Placement exams. This College Board academic honor can be included in college and scholarship applications.
