Our four high schools are ranked in the top 21% of Illinois schools in U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 listing of America’s Best High Schools. Among more than 700 Illinois high schools, Glenbard West is ranked 27th in Illinois; Glenbard South is ranked 78th; Glenbard North is ranked 116th and Glenbard East is ranked 150th. Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation rate and how well they prepare students for college.
Superintendent David Larson said, “I am proud of our students and educators for their hard work, particularly throughout the pandemic. We encourage students to challenge themselves by taking rigorous courses. Among our goals is that seniors will pass one or more Advanced Placement exams and that juniors will enroll in Physics or higher science class and Algebra 2 with Trigonometry or higher math class. The critical thinking, communication and collaboration required in these classes prepare students for college, careers and life. Through our Profile of a Graduate, we empower our students to leave our schools as individuals who communicate, create, collaborate, think critically, embrace diversity and are self-empowered. These skills will prepare our graduates for infinite possibilities.”
U.S. News & World Report evaluated nearly 18,000 public high schools nationwide to develop its list. Information about the rankings is available at this link.
