DuPage Election Division certifies results for facility improvements referendum
On April 9, the DuPage Election Division certified that vote totals are finalized for the Glenbard District 87 facility improvements referendum. According to the DuPage Election Division, there are 12,491 (50.82%) Yes votes and 12,087 (49.18%) No votes.
We thank our community members for voting on the referendum.

Unofficial election results for facility improvements referendum With all precincts reporting on the night of March 19, 2024, the DuPage Election Division’s unofficial vote totals for the Glenbard District 87 facility improvements referendum are 11,869 Yes votes (50.19 percent) and 11,780 No votes (49.81 percent).
The DuPage Election Division has 14 days from Election Day to count mail-in ballots and provisional ballots. We will update our website with finalized results once they are made available.

Glenbard March 2024 Referendum Details
For generations, Glenbard District 87 students have benefitted from an outstanding high school experience. We want to continue this tradition. Our four high schools, which range in age from 51 to 101 years old, have numerous capital improvement needs. The March 19, 2024 referendum seeks to secure funding necessary to make crucial facility improvements.

Board authorizes referendum to address facility needs
On Dec. 11, 2023, the Glenbard District 87 Board of Education authorized the administration to proceed with a referendum in March 2024 to assist in funding Glenbard District 87’s 10-year Facility Master Plan.
The board unanimously approved a resolution to place a question on the March 19, 2024 ballot to seek voter approval to issue $183 million in bonds to improve the sites of and alter, repair and equip Glenbard’s four high schools, which are between 51 and 101 years old. The new Facility Master Plan identified $312 million of priorities for improvements at each of the high schools. Glenbard District 87 is asking the community to approve $183 million of bonds to fund the plan, and the district will contribute $129 million of funding from its operating revenues over the next 10 years to fund the $312 million plan.

Facility Plan survey results
The facility plan survey was open from Oct. 2 to 27. Survey results will help us continue to improve Glenbard District 87 for our students. Survey results will inform our new 10-year facility plan as we address the most important facility needs at our schools.
