Teaching & Learning
- All course curriculums will align to the Profile of a Graduate and High-Leverage National Standards, and include both annual and long-term continuous improvement practices with a focus on hybrid block implementation.
- DCs and APls will work to incorporate complex texts and tasks, with high student support, especially in regular level courses.
- All course teams will prioritize embedding performance-based assessments, with authentic real-world applications whenever possible, that are aligned to High-Leverage National Standards and Profile of a Graduate for summative assessments.
- All schools will develop a comprehensive student multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) plan to identify how and when students will get support or challenge when needed.
- Continue to implement district-wide grading practices that are aligned with best practices.
Collaborative Culture
- Refine Glenbard Hour with a focus on student agency and advisory.
- Unit design and Profile of a Graduate will be integrated into all PD programs, including Institute Days. All teachers will complete the Professional Development Strand Planning Guide in the PD Brochure, and plan to attend PD as a PLC team.
- Athletic and activity participation will be consistent across all demographics, with a focus on ninth grade.
- Buildings will continue to develop and implement their customized equity and inclusion plan in alignment with staff and student leadership groups.
Pathways
- All seniors will pursue a diverse selection of postsecondary opportunities, such as safety/match/reach schools, apprenticeships, military, gap year programs, workforce, etc., and seniors and their families will have a conversation with a counselor to review postsecondary options and create a clear postsecondary plan, which will be leveraged to support student goals and maintain low summer melt rates.
- Work to build infrastructure for career pathways, capstone experiences, and internships.
